County Veterans Service Officer (CVSO), Barbara Fischer is responsible for the administration of the Veterans Service Office over which the Board of County Commissioners has authority pursuant to Florida law. The CVSO is responsible for implementing and executing the policies, ordinances and budget as directed by the County Manager and the Board.

Veterans’ Service Office Hours: (Part-time Position)
The Veteran Affairs Office will be closed when the Bradford County Court House is officially closed.

  • Monday: 8:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • Tuesdays: Hours Vary (please call ahead) 
  • Wednesdays: 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
  • Thursdays: 8:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • Friday: 8:00 am – 12:30 pm

  • Assist Bradford County Veteran Residents with Obtaining the Services and Benefits Earned During Service in the U.S. Armed Forces.
  • Combat Related Special Compensation.
  • Concurrent Receipt Disability and Retirement Pay.
  • Annual Eligibility Verification Reports.
  • Veterans Preference.
  • Assist Widows/Widowers of Military Retirees (Burial/SBP/Insurance).
  • VA Nursing Home Placement, Respite Care Assistance.
  • VA Insurance, CHAMP-VA Assistance.
  • Homestead and Solid Waste Tax Exemptions.
  • Information/Assistance for VA Home Loans.
  • Assistance/ for Discharge Upgrade.
  • Assist Veterans with Appeals.
  • Adaptive Equipment and/or Adaptive Housing.
  • Aid and Attendance Special Monthly Compensation Claims.
  • Burial Information and Claims.
  • Clothing Allowance Claims.
  • Education Claims.
  • Compensation Claims (Active Duty Incurred Disability).
  • Pension Claims (War Time Veterans).
  • VA Medical Care Enrollment.
  • Vocational Rehabilitation Applications.
  • “Out-Reach” Speeches Veterans/Non-Veteran Groups.
  • Counseling/Transition Assistance for New Veterans.
  • Home Visits to Disabled Homebound Veterans to Assist.
  • Request for Florida Disabled Veteran ID Cards.
  • Request for Military Records/Discharge Certificates.
  • Waivers for Indebtedness.
