  • NOTICE OF ENACTMENT OF ORDINANCE

    NOTEICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a proposed ordinance, the title of which appears below, will be considered for enactment by the Board of County Commissioners of Bradford County, Florida at a public hearing to be held on July 2, 2024, at 9:30 AM, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be considered, at the County Commission Chambers, in the North Wing of the Bradford County Courthouse, located at 945 N Temple Avenue, Starke, Florida. Copies of said ordinance may be inspected by any member of the public at the Office of the County Manager, located at 945 N Temple Avenue, Starke, Florida, during regular business hours.

    AN ORDINANCE OF BRADFORD COUNTY, FLORIDA RELATING TO THE PROVISION AND FUNDING OF FIRE RESCUE  SERVICES, AND FACILITIES; AUTHORIZING THE IMPOSITION AND COLLECTION OF NON-AD VALOREM SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS AGAINST REAL PROPERTY SPECIALLY BENEFITTED BY THE PROVISION OF SUCH SERVICES AND FACILITIES ESTABLISHED BY THE COUNTY HEREUNDER; PROVIDING CERTAIN DEFINITIONS; ESTABLISHING THE PROCEDURES FOR IMPOSING, COLLECTING AND ADMINISTERING FIRE RESCUE ASSESSMENTS; PROVIDING THAT FIRE RESCUE ASSESSMENTS CONSTITUTE A LIEN ON ASSESSED PROPERTY EQUAL IN RANK AND DIGNITY WITH THE LIENS OF ALL STATE, COUNTY, DISTRICT, OR MUNICIPAL TAXES AND ASSESSMENTS AND SUPERIOR IN DIGNITY TO ALL OTHER PRIOR LIENS, MORTGAGES, TITLES, AND CLAIMS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

    The public hearing may be continued to one or more future dates. Any interested party shall be advised that the date, time, and place of any continuation of the public hearing shall be announced during the public hearing and that no further notice concerning the matter will be published. All persons are advised that, if they decide to appeal any decision made at the public hearing, they will need a record of the proceedings and, for such purpose, they may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
